Lake Charles, Louisiana – The National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for several areas in southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas. The warning is in effect until 12:30 AM CDT on March 22, 2024.
At 11:33 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Beaumont, Texas, moving east at 25 mph. The storm is expected to bring 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Radar indicated the severity of the storm.
Residents are advised to take precautions and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection. Hail damage to vehicles is expected, and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees is also likely.
