Meteorologists identified the severe thunderstorm over DeQuincy, moving eastward at approximately 30 mph. The storm carries dual threats: wind gusts reaching 60 mph and hail approximately the size of quarters.

The weather service indicated the storm will likely impact several communities including DeQuincy, Leblanc, Ragley, Reeves, and Oberlin. Residents in these areas should prepare for potential damage to roofs, siding, and trees from the strong winds.

The thunderstorm is part of a larger weather system moving through the region that has prompted meteorologists to monitor conditions closely throughout the morning.
