Sam Houston High School Student Arrested on Terrorizing Charges After Alleged Threats of a School Shooting

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on August 29, 2022, that on Friday, August 26, at approximately 5:30 p.m. CPSO was advised of a possible threat made by a student at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, Louisiana.

During the preliminary investigation, officers learned that a 14-year-old juvenile had sent many text messages threatening to carry out a school shooting.

Detectives reportedly found the boy at his home and spoke with him before arresting him and booking him into the Juvenile Detention Center on terrorizing charges.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Roger Pete is the lead investigator on the case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
