By Orion Blake

Published October 16, 2023

Lake Charles, Louisiana - The City of Lake Charles has announced that contractors are currently finishing the reconstruction of Sale Road, east of its intersection with West Prien Lake Road. If the weather cooperates, this section of road is expected to reopen for both vehicles and pedestrians on Friday, October 20, 2023. Once Sale Road is open again, the next phase of work will start, which involves closing certain lanes and intersections.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 20, the intersection of West Prien Lake Road and Ihles Road will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. This closure also includes the east approach of West Prien Lake Road from Ihles Road. In addition, the southbound lane of West Prien Lake Road between Sale Road and Ihles Road will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians.

A map showing these closures and alternate routes is provided with this announcement. These closures are necessary for contractors to install new concrete pavement in the area.

If weather conditions permit, these closures will remain in effect until 5 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024.
