Lake Charles, Louisiana - Beginning today, January 27, 2025, both southbound lanes of Ryan Street in Lake Charles will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic between Churchill and West Claude Streets. This closure is for contractors to conduct repairs on an underground utility in the area.

The work is expected to take place over the course of one week, weather permitting, with the closure scheduled to last until 5 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to seek alternative routes during this period. Local authorities recommend using nearby streets to bypass the closure, as there may be increased traffic congestion in surrounding areas. Signs will be posted to inform drivers of the detours and to guide them safely around the work zone.
