Results for September 9 DWI Checkpoint in Calcasieu Parish Released

Sulphur, Louisiana – On September 14, 2022, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that on Friday, September 9 the CPSO conducted a DWI checkpoint at 1657 Swisco Road in Sulphur, Louisiana to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.

According to authorities, two hundred and eight vehicles were checked; eight citations were issued for no seatbelt; four citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker; five citations were issued for driving under suspension; one citation was issued for no insurance; one citation was issued for open container; one citation was issued for child restraint; one citation was issued for obstructed windshield; and one citation was issued for an expired license plate.

The following individual was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center:

Alvin Parker, 45, Lafayette, Louisiana, arrested for possession of CDS II (methamphetamine); possession of CDS II (crack cocaine); possession of CDS II (powder cocaine), possession of CDS I (synthetic marijuana); possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Mieka Rogalski, 24, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of CDS II (methamphetamine); possession of CDS II (crack cocaine); possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia

Marques Bragg, 42, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for DWI; and contempt of court warrant for domestic abuse battery strangulation

Shawn McNabb, 25, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of CDS IV(alprazolam)

The following individuals were issued a signed summons and released:

Chance Burnsworth, 38, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for driving under suspension for prior DWI; and expired MVI

Seth Duhon, 29, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia

Joshua Duhon, 30, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving under suspension; and turning movements and signals required

Stacy Messink, 46, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia; and obstructed windshield

Chase Molitor, 22, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia

Khadihah Jones, 28, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; and open container

Schnequia Fontenot, 45, Sulphur, Louisiana, was arrested for possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia

Maychelle Albright, 34, Orange, Texas, was arrested for possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Charles Police Department took part in the checkpoint. The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission sponsored the checkpoint.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
