Restaurant Employee Arrested in Louisiana After Allegedly Shooting a Co-Worker During an Altercation Ascension Parish

Ascension Parish, Louisiana – A restaurant employee has been arrested in Louisiana after allegedly shooting a co-worker during an altercation in Ascension Parish.

On April 6, 2023, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that a Prairieville, Louisiana man has been arrested for attempted murder after shooting coworker.

According to Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre, on Thursday April 6, at approximately 8:40am, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at a restaurant along Airline Hwy near Hwy 42 in Prairieville, Louisiana. Upon arrival, deputies found one subject suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

According to authorities, the alleged shooter, identified, as Tristin Trigg-Williams, 22, of Prairieville, Louisiana remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

During their investigation detectives indicated that they learned that Williams and the victim, who were employees at the restaurant where the incident occurred, got into an altercation, which resulted in Williams firing a gun and striking the victim. Williams was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of a weapon, illegal carrying of a weapon, and possession of marijuana.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
