Residents of Calcasieu Parish Asked to Share Feedback in CPPJ 2022 Citizen Survey

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury issued a brief survey on September 14, 2022, seeking feedback from parish residents and stakeholders on its services, programs, and operations in order to improve the overall performance of its departments.

Since the adoption of its three-year strategic plan in April, CPPJ has been soliciting feedback to identify service areas (e.g., litter, drainage, traffic, transportation, infrastructure, disaster recovery) that require improvement and have a daily impact on Calcasieu Parish residents.

The brief, anonymous poll asks about existing services, initiatives, and operations that the Police Jury should prioritize in the next years to support a high quality of life in Calcasieu Parish.

“It is critical to hear directly from citizens of Calcasieu Parish,” said Police Jury President Tony Stelly. “Our community’s feedback is valuable and beneficial to improve how we respond to their needs in a more innovative, effective, and efficient way.”

The Police Jury’s principal objective is to offer high-quality services and actions to the inhabitants of Calcasieu Parish that benefit current and future generations throughout Southwest Louisiana. The survey is one method for agencies to enhance their services by gathering feedback on priorities and resource planning to keep citizens’ major concerns at the forefront.

“During our parishwide strategic planning process, our Police Jury set priorities and adopted multi-year goals after receiving feedback from hundreds of Calcasieu Parish citizens,” said Parish Administrator Bryan Beam. “This brief survey will add value and help to improve how our departments and Police Jury prioritizes and responds to citizens’ needs more effectively.”

Citizens who are interested in participating in the survey can do so online by following this link. Residents can also complete the survey in person at the Parish Administration Building in Lake Charles, 1015 Pithon St., first floor. The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. From Monday to Friday.

The survey must be completed by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The poll findings will be summarized at a future Police Jury meeting and posted on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website.
