Iowa, Louisiana – Red Bird Cafe in Iowa, Louisiana, and its accompanying food trailer have officially closed their doors for good, according to an announcement made by owner Carla Guillory on December 18, 2023. The eatery was located at 23450 Abie Fontenot Road.

The official closing date of Red Bird Cafe was December 15. In her social media post, Guillory expressed her gratitude to the community, saying, “We have been proud to serve you, and it has been a pleasure getting to know each and every one of you. I will treasure the memories we have made together, and I hope that you will keep us in your thoughts and prayers.”

Although the closure of Red Bird Cafe may come as a disappointment to many, Guillory has already made plans for her future. She will be taking on a job in the kitchen at St. Charles Retreat Center, where her culinary talents will continue to be put to good use.

Red Bird Cafe was known for its menu items, which included loaded nachos, baked potatoes, burgers, and a mouthwatering smoked brisket sandwich aptly named ‘No Bull’. In addition to these favorites, the cafe also offered plate lunches and seasonal specialties, ensuring there was always something to suit every taste.

As part of the closure, Guillory is selling the cafe’s commercial kitchen equipment. This includes stainless steel tables, a large custom-built cabinet smoker, a salad cooler, a small refrigerator/cooler, a tabletop warmer, a tabletop double fryer, commercial shelves, and various other kitchen and business items.
