Proposed Redistricting Plan for Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Districts
The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced on Thursday, May 19, 2022, that they received the proposed redistricting plan for Police Jury Districts based on the 2020 United States Census. Calcasieu residents may comment on the proposed plan until Thursday, June 23, when the Police Jury will take final action.
At their meeting on June 23, the Police Jury will also hold a public hearing for comments. Once approved, the new district maps will go into effect on January 1, 2024, when the next Police Jury is seated. Residents will vote in the new districts in the fall of 2023 Police Jury election, while the current districts will remain in effect until the new jury is seated.
