Published May 1, 2021
President Joe Biden will be visiting Lake Charles on May 6, 2021, to talk about his American Jobs Plan.
One of the goals of the American Jobs Plan is to rebuild the country’s infrastructure, which includes rebuilding bridges like the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, and improving the electric grid so that it is not so vulnerable to extended outages like the ones caused by the 2020 hurricanes and the Winter storm of 2021. Other goals of the plan include creating jobs and positioning the US to out-compete China.
Biden previously visited Lake Charles in 2010 as vice president.
President Biden is also expected to visit New Orleans during his trip to Louisiana.
