Power Outage and Traffic Being Diverted on MLK HWY Near Broad Street in Lake Charles

Entergy Louisiana is reporting that approximately 2,000 customers are without power in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway (Hwy. 171) between Opelousas Street and 6th Street, just South or Broad Street.

Lake Charles City Police is asking drivers to avoid Martin Luther King Jr. Highway between Broad and Opelousas Streets due to downed power lines.  Some streets in the area were blocked by police at the time this was published on February 12, 2019, at approximately 10:35 p.m.

Entergy has published an estimated restoration time of 11:30 p.m. on February 12, 2019.
