Westlake, Louisiana – A man was found unresponsive in a ditch in Westlake, Louisiana on October 31, leading the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office to launch an investigation into a possible hit and run incident. Deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Miller Avenue, near Smith Ferry Road, at approximately 2:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a person in the ditch.
Upon arrival, deputies found the victim unresponsive and observed injuries that suggested a possible hit and run incident. The investigation is still in its early stages, and detectives are working to piece together the events surrounding the incident.
The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. The coroner’s office will determine the cause of death.
Detectives are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with residents in the area who may have security cameras that could have captured footage of the incident.
