Police in Louisiana Searching For Suspect in Alexandria Shooting that Left One in Critical Condition

Alexandria, Louisiana – Police in Louisiana are searching for a suspect in the Alexandria shooting that left one person in critical condition.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) confirmed on May 27, 2023, that police responded to a complaint of a gunshot incident near Levin Street and Chester Street on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:39 p.m. Responding officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and was reported to be in critical condition at the time this was published.

The Alexandria Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Norman Coty on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Coty, a 29-year-old black man, is thought to be armed and dangerous.
