Police in Louisiana Asking For Assistance From the Public in Locating Suspects in Shooting of 6-Year-Old Child

Shreveport, Louisiana – Police in Louisiana are asking for assistance from the public in locating the suspects responsible for the shooting of a 6-year-old child.

Shreveport Police Department reported on May 5, 2023, that on May 4, at 7:27 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 700 block of West 62nd Street in relation to a shooting. When authorities arrived, they discovered a 6-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was sent to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities were able to ascertain that the victim was outside playing in her front yard when multiple suspects began shooting, according to Shreveport Police reports. The suspects then departed in a vehicle. Detectives from the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded and released a video of one of the suspect automobiles. Shreveport Police are appealing to the public for help in apprehending these violent criminals.

Shreveport Police commented that this shooting is a senseless act of violence that injured an innocent child.
