Police in Louisiana Arrest Suspect in Blunt Force Trauma Homicide Case in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Police in Louisiana have successfully apprehended a suspect in connection with a tragic beating death case in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Police Department’s Homicide Division has successfully apprehended a suspect in connection with the tragic beating death of Rachel Johnson. Ms. Johnson, a 42-year-old resident of Baton Rouge, was discovered deceased in her home on July 3, 2023.

The investigation led investigators to Cedrick Demond Lang, a 35-year-old individual who has since been taken into custody and charged with Second Degree Murder.

The accused has been remanded to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

BRPD indicated that an anonymous tip supplied to Crime Stoppers significantly aided detectives in their ongoing investigation.
