Police Asking For Information From the Public After One Teen in Louisiana was Killed and Two Others Injured in Weekend Shooting in New Orleans
New Orleans, Louisiana – Police are asking for information from the public after one teen in Louisiana was killed and two others were injured in a weekend shooting in New Orleans.
The NOPD reported that it is investigating a homicide that occurred in the early hours of April 15, 2023, in the 1100 block of Bartholomew Street, killing one juvenile and injuring two others.
NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location around 1:03 a.m. Officers arrived to find a 16-year-old juvenile male and a 15-year-old juvenile female on the scene, both with gunshot wounds. The male victim died at the scene, while the female victim was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS.
Detectives also determined that a 17-year-old juvenile male gunshot wound victim in this incident was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
Detectives are now gathering evidence and information in order to identify the person(s) or persons responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. There are presently no additional details available.
Following the conclusion of the autopsy and notification of the family, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victim and the official cause of death.
