Sulphur Road Closures Announced for Park-to-Park Half Marathon

Sulphur, Louisiana – The City of Sulphur has announced several road closures that will take place on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, from 5:30 am to 11:00 am in relation to the Park-to-Park Half Marathon. Residents and motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution when driving in these areas.

The following road closures will be in effect in Sulphur during the specified time period:

  • Ruth Street: The closure will span from Cypress Street to Pecan Street, ensuring the safety of the runners participating in the half marathon. Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes to reach their destinations.
  • Logan Street: The westbound lane of Logan Street will be closed to accommodate the marathon route. Drivers are requested to use alternative roads to avoid any inconveniences.
  • Picard Road: The southbound lane of Picard Road will be closed during the event. Participants and spectators are advised to use caution and follow the designated signage.
  • Willow Street: The southbound lane of Willow Street, from Ash Street to Cypress Street, will be closed temporarily. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to minimize any potential delays.
  • Cypress Street: The westbound outer lane of Cypress Street, from Willow Street to Beglis Parkway, will be closed to provide a safe and uninterrupted course for the runners. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and follow the instructions provided by the event organizers.
  • Maplewood Drive: The westbound outer lane of Maplewood Drive, stretching from Louisiana Avenue to Hazel Street, will be closed during the marathon. Motorists are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly and use alternate roads to avoid any congestion.
