Lake Charles, Louisiana - On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, a crash occurred involving a pedestrian and an alleged drunk driver in Lake Charles, Louisiana, near the Caddyshack Icehouse on Lake Street. The incident took place shortly after the conclusion of the Krewe of Krewe's Parade, which is known as the largest and final Mardi Gras parade in the city.

The driver, identified as 45-year-old Steven C. Breaux III from Sulphur, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and vehicular negligent injuring.

The victim of the crash was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
