Pedestrian Hospitalized With Critical Injuries After Lake Charles Crash On Gerstner Memorial

LAKE CHARLES, La. — A pedestrian remains hospitalized with critical injuries after a crash involving a vehicle along Louisiana Highway 14 in Lake Charles on Tuesday morning, according to the Lake Charles Police Department.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 11:38 a.m. on Dec. 30 to the 1000 block of LA 14, also known as Gerstner Memorial, for a report of a crash involving an automobile and a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries.

Police rendered aid at the scene until Acadian Ambulance personnel arrived. The pedestrian was then transported by ambulance to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, where they remain in critical condition, authorities said.

No details were immediately released about the vehicle involved, the driver, how the crash occurred, or any potential contributing factors.

The Lake Charles Police Department Traffic Division is leading the investigation into the incident. As of now, no charges or citations have been announced.
