After being closed for nearly eleven hours due to an 18-wheeler spilling a substance on the roadway, I-10 westbound has reopened in Sulphur near the Cities Service Hwy Exit at mile marker 24.

Sulphur, LA – A significant traffic disruption has occurred on Interstate 10 westbound, impacting the areas of Sulphur and Westlake. The closure is a result of a load spill near the Cities Service Highway Exit at mile marker 24 in Sulphur.

The incident was reported by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) at approximately 2:30 pm. As of now, the estimated time for reopening the affected roadways has not been announced, leaving many travelers to seek alternate routes.

According to DOTD officials, the spill involved materials that require careful handling. Crews are currently working to clear the debris and ensure the safety of the road before it can be reopened to the public.
