Opening of Cultural Grant Applications for 2023-2024 in Calcasieu Parish Announced by Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and CPPJ

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The opening of cultural grant applications for 2023-2024 in Calcasieu Parish has been announced by the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and the CPPJ.

The Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana announced on March 8, 2023, that applications for the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Grant for the fiscal year 2023-2024 are now open.

The Arts & Humanities Council administers this competitive grant program, which is sponsored annually by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and gives financial support to arts organizations and community groups providing arts programming and cultural events in Calcasieu Parish. Dance, design arts, folk life, literature, media, music, theater, and visual arts and crafts are among the disciplines funded by the program.

Applicants may request up to $5,000 in project funding for events taking place between April 2023 and March 2024. Events must take place inside Calcasieu Parish to qualify. Because applicants compete solely with other organizations and projects within Calcasieu Parish, cultural priorities are decided locally.

Applications must be submitted by March 24, 2023, at 5 p.m. Applications should be emailed to Jordan Gribble, Community Development Coordinator, at [email protected].

The Louisiana Division of the Arts, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the City of Lake Charles, and Visit Lake Charles rely on the Arts & Humanities Council for high-quality grant administration.
