One Suspect From Louisiana and One From Texas Arrested in Connection with Sporting Goods Stores and Gun Shop Burglaries

Alexandria, Louisiana – Two suspects, one from Louisiana and one from Texas, have been arrested in connection with burglaries at sporting goods stores and a gun shop.

The City of Alexandria reported on May 16, 2023, that at 12:19 a.m., patrol officers from the Alexandria Police Department responded to Academy Sporting Goods on MacArthur Drive. Officers discovered glass breaking upon arrival, indicating forced entry, according to accounts. Officers reportedly discovered Christopher Green, a 22-year-old male from Houston, Texas, and Emmanuel Frank, an 18-year-old male from Alexandria, Louisiana, while searching the business.

The subjects were apprehended and brought into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for simple burglary.

Green and Frank were also reportedly linked to attempted burglaries at Security Sporting Goods and The Gun Shop over the weekend after further investigation by Alexandria Police Detectives. The subjects were also charged with two counts of attempted burglary.

Officials stated that the inquiry is still ongoing.

The Alexandria Police Department has recovered 46 illegally held guns since January 1, 2023.
