One Suspect Arrested in Louisiana in Connection with Two Mobile Home Fires on the Same Street Hours Apart

Natchitoches, Louisiana – One suspect has been arrested in Louisiana in connection with two mobile home fires on the same street that occurred only hours apart.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) has confirmed that at 8:40 am, on March 3, 2023, NPSO Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #6, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS were on the scene of a mobile home fire in the 100 block of Ann Street in Cedar Grove Sub-Division just south of Natchitoches, Louisiana.

NATCOM 911 Center received several 911 calls this morning reporting the fire at approximately 7:13 am. Multiple fire units from NPFD #6 arrived on the scene within minutes finding the mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

NPFD #6 believed the fire to be suspicious requesting assistance from the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM). The cause of the fire is under investigation by the LASFM Office.

At 9:21 am, Natchitoches Parish Fire District #6 was assisting LASFM Investigators at the scene of the original fire when they observed a second fire in the 100 block of Ann Street.

Authorities indicated that an individual near the fire scene was observed fleeing the area, and NPSO Deputies responded to assist. After a brief foot pursuit, a Louisiana State Fire Marshal Investigator took the suspect into custody. The suspect has been transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, 2 counts of Simple Arson, and Resisting an Officer.

There were also no injuries reported in either fire. The first mobile home was a total loss, and the second mobile home received moderate damage.

The investigation is still active and ongoing by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
