One Killed and One Injured in Early Morning Vehicle-Pedestrian Crash on LA 1024 in Livingston Parish
Livingston Parish, Louisiana – One person was killed and another person was injured in an early morning vehicle-pedestrian crash on LA 1024 in Livingston Parish.
On July 24, 2023, just after 3:30 am, officers from Louisiana State Police Troop A initiated an investigation into a single-car collision involving two pedestrians on LA 1024 in Livingston Parish. Unfortunately, the crash resulted in the death of Candace Linder, a 39-year-old from Walker, Louisiana.
The initial examination showed that a 2017 Ford F-150 was driving east on LA 1024. Under circumstances that are still being investigated, Linder and another pedestrian were walking east on the same road when they were hit from behind by the vehicle. Furthermore, LSP indicated that they were both dressed in dark clothing when the crash took place.
Linder was transported to a nearby hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, another pedestrian who suffered significant injuries was also rushed to a local hospital. The Ford driver, who was unharmed, raised no suspicions of intoxication. However, a sample was taken for toxicology testing.
