Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana – One driver was killed and eight others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on LA 182 in Terrebonne Parish.
Louisiana State Police Troop C initiated an inquiry into a fatal two-car crash that took place on Louisiana Highway 182, slightly west of Louisiana Highway 316, on August 27, 2023, just after 7:00 p.m. The crash resulted in the death of a man, whose identity is yet to be disclosed until his family is informed.
An initial examination showed that David Angbrant, age 62, of Gibson, Louisiana was driving a 2007 Ford E-250 van heading west on LA Hwy 182 at the same time a 2020 Chevrolet Express van was moving east. The reasons remain unknown, but the Ford veered over the middle line and directly collided with the Chevrolet.
The individual driving the Chevrolet, who was properly restrained according to police, sustained lethal injuries and died on the spot. Angbrant, who was also secured, experienced serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in New Orleans for medical attention.
The Chevrolet contained multiple passengers who were taken to local hospitals to receive medical care for diverse injuries, ranging from light to moderate. Investigations into where they were seated and whether they were using safety measures are ongoing.
A routine toxicology specimen was taken from both Angbrant and the Chevrolet’s driver for further testing. The investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
The reason behind the crash is still being looked into, however, it’s critically important for all drivers to make safety their priority when on the road.
