Lake Charles, Louisiana – A shooting incident in Lake Charles, Louisiana, has left one man dead and another facing potential charges. On the evening of September 25, around 8:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call on Bennie Lane, where a neighbor dispute turned deadly.

According to 911 dispatchers, the caller, identified as Christian K. Bourriague, 26, reported shooting his neighbor, David K. Fife, 56, after Fife allegedly charged at him in his driveway. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Fife outside, deceased, with multiple apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident, with CPSO Detective Julius Frazier leading the probe. Preliminary findings suggest that a verbal altercation between Bourriague and Fife escalated into a physical confrontation, with Fife initially grabbing a weapon and approaching Bourriague. Although Fife put down the object, he continued to move towards Bourriague, who then shot him in self-defense.

The incident is still under investigation, and the coroner’s office will determine the official cause of death. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has not commented on potential charges against Bourriague, as the investigation is ongoing.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
