Oil City, Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Two Brothers in Vivian, Killing One and Injuring Another

Vivian, Louisiana – An Oil City, Louisiana man has been arrested after he allegedly shot two brothers in Vivian, killing one and injuring another.

Detectives from the Caddo Sheriff’s Office have apprehended an 18-year-old male for allegedly shooting two brothers. Sheriff Steve Prator reported that one brother was fatally injured while the other was sent for treatment in a hospital.

Jadaveun Dillard from Oil City, Louisiana was apprehended following a probe that identified him as the sole gunman responsible for the murder of C’Aundre Anderson and the injury of his brother, Cuviondrick Anderson. The incident occurred at their residence located on the 700 block of North Hickory Street in Vivian, Louisiana on Sunday night.

Investigators report that the two men were shot at the residence they occupied with two other relatives. They announced that C’Aundre was hit once in the abdomen and fell unconscious in the living room, where he passed away from his injury.

Cuviondrick, who was shot once in the chest, was rushed to North Caddo Hospital via ambulance and then flown to Ochsner LSU Health for additional care. Medical staff expect Cuviondrick to recuperate.

Dillard was apprehended and accused of both one instance of Second-Degree Murder and one instance of Attempted Second-Degree Murder. He has been booked at the Caddo Correctional Center, with bail set at $1,500,000.

Officials have stated that the investigation is still underway.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
