New Evacuation Orders Issued Due to Loss of Containment of Tiger Island Wildfire

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that due to containment loss of the Tiger Island Widlfire, Highway 110 between Singer, Louisiana, and Merryville, Louisiana will be closed until further notice.

There are firefighting activities taking place at this time to regain containment.

A Mandatory Evacuation Order has been issued for Hubert Smith and Charles Burgess Road. BPSO is asking residents to vacate the areas immediately. If you choose to not leave please be aware that fire retardant is going to be dropped and you should take cover.

A Voluntary Evacuation Order has also been issued for the area south of Highway 110 between Singer, Louisiana, and Merryville, Louisiana continuing south to residents on the WESTSIDE of Highway 27 to Juanita.

Authorities ask that residents have personal items packed and ready to move should a Mandatory Order be issued
