New Cajun Restaurant Shuck and Boil by the Owners of SHUCKS! Coming to Lake Charles

The owners of the Cajun restaurant SHUCKS!, in Abbeville is planning on opening a new restaurant called Shuck and Boil in Lake Charles. SHUCKS!, in some form, has been serving Louisiana dishes for over 45 years. Originally called Dupuy’s Oyster Bar in 1973, they changed the name to SHUCKS! in 1995. Originally, owners were hoping to open the restaurant by late 2019 or early 2020. Due to a worldwide pandemic, two hurricanes, and other issues, the opening date has been pushed back. The new opening date is expected to be in late 2023 or early 2024.
The location of the new SHUCKS! restaurant will be in Contraband Pointe off of Contraband Parkway just north of West Prien Lake Road. For those not familiar, Contraband Parkway is the new road that runs to the east and north of Target off of West Prien Lake Road. You can see the location of Shuck and Boil on the map below.
