Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) has announced a temporary lane closure at the intersection of LA 1138-2 (Nelson Road) and Cagle Lane in Lake Charles, effective Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The northbound right lane will be closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. to facilitate traffic signal improvements.
During this time, motorists traveling north on LA 1138-2 will still be able to turn right onto West Prien Lake Road. However, they should be prepared for potential delays and plan their routes accordingly. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both workers and drivers while the necessary upgrades are made to the traffic signals.
The LADOTD advises drivers to exercise caution when navigating the area and to follow any detour signs or instructions from traffic management personnel. By doing so, motorists can help minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
This closure is part of the ongoing efforts to improve the region’s infrastructure and enhance driver safety.
