Multiple Charges Announced Against Four Louisiana Teens Involved in August 30 Thefts and Shootout
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on August 31, 2022, that four juveniles arrested following a shootout on Tuesday morning had been charged for their multi-day crime spree.
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s detectives discovered the teenagers, aged 16 and 17, began their crime spree in Shreveport’s Southern Hills Neighborhood, where they reportedly stole a car shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday. They allegedly stole a pickup truck in Blanchard on Tuesday.
The two stolen vehicles were later used to facilitate vehicle burglaries in the Blanchard and North Forty Loop areas where the shooting occurred.
A Grand Oaks Apartments resident told detectives that he was walking to his vehicle on Tuesday morning when one of the teenagers pretended to seek assistance. That teen later pointed a gun at him, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.
Patrol deputies arrived at the apartment complex and eventually apprehended all defendants.
Caddo deputies recovered the two stolen vehicles, as well as five firearms and stolen property. Except for the firearms, everything was returned to the victims. The investigation is still ongoing. So far, they have identified eight victims.
