The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office made an announcement regarding the closure of several departments to the public on August 1, 2023. This temporary closure is due to necessary repairs being made on a water line which will disrupt water services in the affected areas.

Among the departments that will be closed are Administration, Court Records & Bonds, Evidence, Id/Records, and Internal Affairs. The Calcasieu Correctional Center Administration will also be closed during this period. However, offices will reopen as normal on Wednesday, August 2.

CPSO also indicated that there will be a disruption of service to certain areas in the CCC that house inmates.

In order to provide necessary facilities, portable restrooms, and bottled water will be made available. Essential deputies who are unable to leave will have access to portable restrooms and a restroom trailer onsite.
