Scott, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 that resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries in the early hours of May 26, 2025. The incident occurred shortly before 3:00 a.m., approximately one mile west of Louisiana Highway 93, and involved five vehicles traveling in both directions on the busy interstate.
According to the initial report from Troop I, the crash began when a Dodge Charger heading westbound exited the roadway to the left. The vehicle crossed the median, hit a guardrail, and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of I-10. Within moments, the stationary Dodge was struck by two eastbound vehicles: an Acura Integra and a Ford F-250. Debris from the crash created additional hazards, leading to a Ram 1500 and a Honda HRV—both also traveling eastbound—striking scattered parts on the roadway.
Tragically, the driver of the Dodge Charger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding the individual’s identity until next of kin have been notified, following standard procedure in fatal incidents. The drivers of the Acura Integra and Ford F-250 sustained moderate injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Meanwhile, the drivers of the Ram 1500 and Honda HRV were not injured, despite their vehicles encountering debris.
Investigators noted that the drivers of both the Dodge and the Ford F-250 were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. All other drivers involved were properly restrained.
As part of the ongoing investigation, toxicology samples were collected from the involved drivers and have been submitted for analysis. Louisiana State Police have not yet released any conclusions regarding potential impairment or other contributing factors. The cause of the initial loss of control by the Dodge remains under investigation.
