Muddy Intoxicated Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Entering a Home and Damaging Furniture After Running from a Crash Scene

Union Parish, Louisiana – A muddy and intoxicated Louisiana man has been arrested after allegedly entering a home and damaging furniture after running from a crash scene.

On March 14, 2023, the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office (UPSO) reported that on March 10, at approximately 10:30 p.m., UPSO was contacted by a homeowner in the Farmerville area who stated that an unknown person appeared to be in a drunken stupor inside their residence. UPSO deputies who were investigating a vehicle crash nearby responded quickly to the residence.

Upon arrival, deputies located Ethan Chase Lebreton, 20, of Farmerville, Louisiana standing with the homeowner on the front porch.

The homeowner told deputies that their daughter went to her bedroom to sleep for the night, where she discovered Lebreton lying down, having allegedly entered the residence through the bedroom window. According to the homeowner, after their daughter alerted them to the intruder, Lebreton exited the house through the same window.

It was discovered that the furniture that Lebreton was lying on had been damaged as Lebreton’s clothing was extremely wet and muddy.

Further investigation revealed that Lebreton was a passenger in the vehicle crash that had previously been investigated by deputies. Before deputies arrived, Lebreton fled the scene on foot, towards the homeowner’s house, which was less than a mile away. During this time, the area was experiencing heavy rainfall, which contributed to Lebreton’s muddy condition. The suspect told deputies that he had been drinking all day and night and had no recollection of being inside the house.

Ethan Lebreton was taken into custody and booked into the Union Parish Detention Center. He was charged with Unauthorized Entry into an Inhabited Dwelling, Disturbing the Peace (Drunkenness), Simple Criminal Property Damage, and Criminal Trespass.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
