Bogalusa, Louisiana – A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Louisiana on LA 21 in Washington Parish.

A fatal collision between two vehicles on LA Hwy 21 at Paige Road in Washington Parish was investigated by Troopers from the Louisiana State Police Troop L on the afternoon of August 9, 2023, just after 1:15 PM. The incident resulted in the tragic death of Beau Bowman, a 29-year-old man from Bogalusa, Louisiana.

The preliminary inquiry shows that a 2003 model Toyota Camry was headed east on Paige Road, nearing the crossroads with LA Hwy 21. Simultaneously, a 2024 model Kawasaki motorcycle was moving south on LA Hwy 21. Under circumstances that are still being examined, the Toyota driver failed to yield and ended up moving onto LA Hwy 21, directly blocking the Kawasaki’s path. Consequently, the Kawasaki crashed into the driver’s side of the Toyota.

Despite having on a DOT-certified helmet, Bowman was gravely injured in the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he eventually died from his injuries. The Toyota’s driver, who was appropriately secured, was unharmed. Standard toxicology tests were performed on both drivers for examination. The crash is still under investigation.

LSP urges drivers to consistently exercise sound judgment when operating a vehicle. Abstain from driving when under the influence, exhausted, or preoccupied. Adherence to traffic regulations is compulsory and securing all passengers should be a priority. While not all crashes are survivable, following basic safety measures can often be the distinction between survival or fatal consequences.
