Motorcyclist Killed in Louisiana Crash After Running Off I-12 and Crashing Into Trees in St. Tammany Parish
St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana after running off I-12 and crashing into trees.
Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L commenced an investigation into a deadly motorcycle crash on Interstate 12 near the Interstate 10 junction in St. Tammany Parish on July 9, 2023. The collision resulted in the tragic death of Kyle Sweet, a 38-year-old resident of Pearl River, Louisiana.
According to the first investigation, the crash happened when Sweet was traveling eastbound on Interstate 12 on a 2022 Suzuki motorcycle. It is still being looked into why the motorcycle veered off the road to the left and hit several trees.
Despite the fact that Sweet was wearing a helmet that was approved by the Department of Transportation, he suffered injuries that were so severe that they led to his death at the crash site. As the investigation into the incident continues, a toxicology sample was taken in order to conduct an analysis.
In the press release about the crash, Troopers strongly advised that all motorcyclists participate in a recognized motorcycle safety class.
