Motorcyclist in Louisiana Killed in Single Vehicle Crash on LA 433 in St. Tammany Parish
St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana – A motorcyclist in Louisiana was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana 433 in St. Tammany Parish.
Louisiana State Police (LSP) stated on June 15, 2023, that on June 14, shortly before 7:00 p.m., Troopers from Troop L began investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on LA Hwy 433 near U.S. Hwy 90 in St. Tammany Parish. Matthew Brewer, 33, of Slidell, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.
According to LSP, the incident happened when Brewer was traveling westbound on LA Highway 433 on his 2009 Honda motorcycle. The Honda crossed the center line and exited to the left for reasons that are still being investigated. After leaving the road, the Honda collided with a utility pole.
Despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Brewer died as a result of the accident. On the scene, he was pronounced dead. A toxicological sample was acquired for analysis as part of the continuing investigation.
In a press release about the crash, Troopers said that they wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued or distracted, follow all traffic laws and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
