Motorcycle-SUV Crash in Louisiana Claims Life of 34-Year-Old Sulphur Man

Lake Charles, Louisiana – A motorcycle-SUV crash in Moss Bluff, Louisiana, has claimed the life of a 34-year-old Sulphur man.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office stated on February 28, 2023, that on February 27, 2023, at about 6:00 p.m., deputies were summoned to the intersection of Dunn Ferry Road and Tiffany Lane in Moss Bluff, Louisiana, in connection to a two-vehicle crash.

According to the preliminary investigation, a motorcyclist was heading eastbound on Dunn Ferry Road when an SUV traveling westbound reportedly made a left turn onto Tiffany Lane in front of the rider.

Jonathon A. Wallace, 34, of Sulphur, Louisiana, was ejected from the motorcycle. At the time of the crash, he was wearing a helmet. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The speed of the motorcycle is also suspected to have had a role in the incident, according to authorities, and the investigation is ongoing.

Both drivers will be subjected to toxicity testing, as required by state law.

Sgt. Terry Faulk of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s principal investigator.

A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
