Moss Bluff, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report on December 4th regarding a stolen vehicle at a residence on Gold Finch Way in Moss Bluff. During the initial investigation, it was discovered that a gun, debit card, and various other items were also stolen from the property. Furthermore, three additional vehicle burglaries had taken place in the same area, resulting in the theft of electronics, cash, and tools.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the suspects had used the stolen debit card at different locations in Moss Bluff and Lake Charles. Surveillance footage from the businesses confirmed that the individuals seen using the stolen card were the same ones captured on home surveillance footage at the locations of the vehicle burglaries. Detectives were able to identify a suspect vehicle, which was later spotted on the same day. Subsequently, a traffic stop led to the apprehension of two women, Alexis N. Yarbrough and Brooke A. Woffard, both residents of Sulphur, who were identified from the surveillance videos. Additionally, some of the stolen items were found inside the vehicle. Further search at their residence resulted in the recovery of the stolen firearm.

Yarbrough and Woffard were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. They are facing multiple charges, including simple burglary, theft of a firearm, theft, identity theft, and criminal property damage. Judge Tony Fazzio set their respective bonds at $143,000 and $143,400.

The stolen vehicle was eventually located on Cherry Street in Lake Charles.

Leading the investigation are CPSO VCIU Detectives James Jones, James Rathke, and Chris Scharp.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
