Moss Bluff, Louisiana – A shooting incident in Moss Bluff on November 29 has left a victim in critical condition and a suspect facing serious charges. According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), deputies were dispatched to a home on E. Jovita Lane in Moss Bluff at approximately 7:30 p.m. in response to a shooting.

Detectives learned that the victim and Scott Boudreaux, 47, of Lake Charles, had been involved in an argument earlier in the evening at a local restaurant. The verbal altercation escalated into a physical confrontation when the two returned to the home, at which point Boudreaux allegedly retrieved a firearm from a nearby safe and shot the victim.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office indicated that witness statements and evidence collected at the scene supported this account of events. Boudreaux was subsequently arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of aggravated 2nd degree battery. Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $175,000.

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing, with CPSO Detective Shane Broussard serving as the lead investigator and CPSO Cpl. Jake Verrett as the arresting deputy.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
