Moss Bluff DWI & Seatbelt Checkpoint Results Released by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has published the results of their March 20, 2021, combination DWI and seatbelt checkpoint in Moss Bluff.
 
From the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Moss Bluff – On Saturday, March 20, 2021, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a combination DWI and seatbelt checkpoint in the 600 block of N. Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics, as well as those who were not wearing their seatbelt.
 
One thousand four hundred twenty-one (1,421) vehicles were checked:
 
  • thirteen (13) citations were issued for no seatbelt
  • three (3) citations were issued for improper or no child restraint
  • two (2) citations were issued for no insurance
  • two (2) citations were issued for driving without a license
  • two (2) citations were issued for expired tag
  • two (2) citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker
  • one (1) citation was issued for driving under suspension
  • one (1) citation was issued for failure to register a motor vehicle
  • one (1) citation was issued for illegal window tint
 
The following individual was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center:
 
Claiborne L. Bergeron, 60, Westlake, was arrested for possession of CDS II (methamphetamine); possession of CDS I (marijuana); and two traffic citations.
 
Participating in the checkpoint was the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police Troop D.
