The Lake Charles Police Department responded to the scene around 3:21 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire and located a victim suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Shortly after, officers learned that a second individual, also with non-life-threatening injuries, had arrived at a local hospital.
Investigators determined that a group had gathered in the restaurant’s parking lot when an altercation escalated, resulting in multiple suspects producing firearms and opening fire. During the exchange, two people were shot, and bullets struck both the restaurant building and nearby apartment units. Both shooting victims declined to identify who shot them, complicating the investigation.

He faces charges including aggravated second degree battery, illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal possession of a stolen firearm. His bond is set at $950,000.
Nearly a month later, on August 7, investigators arrested two more suspects in Jennings, Louisiana. His bond is $750,000. A 17-year-old juvenile was also charged with possession of a handgun by a juvenile, with a bond of $85,000.
The investigation is ongoing under the leadership of Detective Sgt. Kevin Hoover. Authorities urge anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Lake Charles Police Department at 337-491-1311 or leave an anonymous tip through the department’s mobile application.
