McVey’s Seafood to Host 3rd Annual Crawfish Boil-Off in Lake Charles May 3

LAKE CHARLES, LA – McVey's Seafood will host its 3rd Annual Crawfish Boil-Off on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Mary's Lounge, located at 4017 Broad Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana. This year's event promises a day of food, music, and community spirit.

The boil-off will feature an all-you-can-eat crawfish feast for $30, starting at 2:00 p.m. Competitors will showcase their best crawfish recipes for judging, and attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of boils.

Boil-Off and Entertainment Schedule

The day's events begin early with team registration and setup from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by boiling time from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Judges will begin picking up crawfish for evaluation at 2:00 p.m.

Attendees can participate in a crawfish-eating competition at 4:30 p.m. Winners of the boil-off competition will be announced at 5:00 p.m.

The event also features a lineup of live entertainment throughout the day. The schedule is:

  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Lolo Boudouin & the Lakeview Playboys
  • 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Conner Haynie
  • 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Aaron Istre
  • In Between Sets: UpScale Productions

Raffle Benefits Local Cause

In addition to the boil-off, there will be a raffle. Tickets are $5 each, and all proceeds after the event’s expenses are covered will be donated to the Buddy Russ Foundation. Prizes include:

  • 1st Prize: One sack crawfish roll pot boiler
  • 2nd Prize: Two sacks live crawfish
  • 3rd Prize: 25 pounds boiled crawfish (provided by Mac's Crawfish)

Awards and Community Engagement

Teams participating in the boil-off have a chance to win cash prizes, with $500 awarded to the 1st place team, $250 to the 2nd place team, and $125 to the 3rd place team.
