McNeese Has Suspended Sports Until March 30, Considering Online Only Courses

McNeese State University in Lake Charles has suspended all Spring sports until March 30 and is also considering moving to online-only courses as precautions during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
On March 12, 2020, McNeese Interim Athletics Director Tanner Stines said “We ask that our fans and supporters be patient as we work through the ever-changing landscape of this situation,” and “We will cautiously make decisions that are in the best interest of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. We will provide regular updates as needed.”
The Southland Conference has also announced that they will be suspending all spring sports competitions through March 30.
At the time this was published, McNeese teams were continuing with normally scheduled practices students were still allowed to attend in-person classes.
