An arrest warrant has been issued for a Shreveport, Louisiana woman who allegedly caused significant injuries to three individuals in a major crash on Interstate 49, according to Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator.
Gorgette Riley, 25, of Shreveport, Louisiana reportedly caused a severe crash involving four vehicles on November 6, 2022, when she drove a red Buick Verano the wrong way on I-49 near Southern Loop at a high rate of speed with an unrestrained three-year-old toddler on board. Riley, the child, and the drivers of two other vehicles were all taken to a nearby hospital, where it was found that they all had serious injuries. The fourth vehicle’s occupants were treated and released at the scene.
After a lengthy investigation, Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Diana Evans and Corporal Jack Anderson acquired an arrest warrant on February 16, 2023, charging Riley with one count of second-degree cruelty to juveniles and two charges of first-degree vehicular negligent injuring, with a total bond of $350,000.
Riley, who lives in the 6000 block of West 70th Street, has yet to be found.
