Louisiana Woman Pleads Guilty in Drug Trafficking Case Involving Methamphetamine and Numerous Co-Conspirators
A Louisiana woman has pleaded guilty in a drug trafficking case involving methamphetamine and numerous other co-conspirators.
New Orleans, Louisiana – On Thursday, February 16, 2023, U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Calleigh Amos, age 30, a resident of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, pled guilty on February 9, 2023, before U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(C), and 846.
According to court filings, between June 8, 2020, and June 5, 2021, Amos was participating in a drug distribution conspiracy with numerous other co-conspirators. Amos was a regular distributor of methamphetamine as part of the conspiracy.
Amos faces up to twenty years in prison, a $1,000,000.00 fine, at least three years of supervised release after any term of imprisonment, and a $100 special assessment fee.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated this case. Assistant United States Attorney J. Benjamin Myers of the Narcotics Section is in charge of the prosecution.
