Louisiana Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on LA 838 After Running Stop Sign
Louisiana - Louisiana State Police reported on November 1, 2022, that on October 31, 2022, just after 1:30 p.m., LSP Troop F responded to a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 838 at Well Road. Kieta M. Hale, 45, of Monroe, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.
The early inquiry found that Hale was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna south on Well Road. A 2015 Kenworth concrete truck was going west on Louisiana Highway 838 at the same moment. Hale reportedly ignored the stop sign and was hit by the Kenworth.
Hale, who was restrained, was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. The Kenworth driver was restrained and not injured.
Although impairment is not suspected, regular toxicological samples were submitted for investigation. The crash is still being investigated.
Troopers want to warn the public that distracted and inattentive driving is harmful and a primary cause of crashes in our state. To stay alert, motorists must pay attention to what is going on outside of the car they are driving and get plenty of rest.
Troop F has investigated 24 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 27 deaths.
