Bienville Parish, Louisiana - Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 155 that claimed the life of a 27-year-old Bastrop woman late Saturday night.

According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, troopers responded to the incident on La. 155 near Toby Road at approximately 10:35 p.m. on December 6, 2025. The crash involved a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado traveling north on the highway.

Investigators said the pickup, driven by 33-year-old Tanner Hill of New Port Richey, Florida, exited the roadway for reasons that are still under investigation and collided with a tree.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, identified as 27-year-old Natalie Waller of Bastrop, was properly restrained at the time of the crash. Despite wearing a seat belt, she sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hill, who was also properly restrained, received minor injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During the on-scene investigation, troopers suspected impairment on the part of Hill. He was later placed under arrest and processed at the Bienville Parish Jail on a charge of vehicular homicide. Vehicular homicide is a felony offense in Louisiana that involves causing the death of a person when operating a vehicle while allegedly impaired.

Standard toxicology samples were collected from Hill and submitted for analysis, as is routine in fatal crash investigations. Results from toxicology testing can take time to process and are expected to play a role in the ongoing investigation.

Louisiana State Police noted that the crash remains under active investigation. No additional details, such as speed, road conditions, or potential contributing factors beyond suspected impairment, have been released.

Authorities have not announced any additional charges, and no further information was available at the time of this report.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
