Louisiana Woman Killed in Head-On Crash on LA 151 After Driver Crosses Centerline for Unknow Reasons
Louisiana – The Louisiana State Police reported on September 13, 2022, that on September 12, at about 4:00 p.m., LSP Troop F responded to a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 151 at Weems Road. Beverly A. Justice, 72, of West Monroe, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.
The early inquiry indicated that Justice was a passenger in a 2005 Buick Terraza that was being driven south on Louisiana Highway 151 by 58-year-old Michael A. Robbins of West Monroe, Louisiana. A 1998 Ford F-150 was heading north at the same time. Under unknown circumstances, the Buick exited its lane of travel, entered the northbound lane, and collided with the Ford F-150 head-on.
Justice, who was restrained, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office. Robbins, who was also restrained, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150, who was also restrained, was sent to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. Impairment is not thought to be a role; however, regular toxicological samples were submitted for investigation.
Although the specific reason for the incident is still being investigated, Troopers would like to warn the public that inattentive and distracted driving is dangerous and a top cause of crashes in our state. To stay alert, drivers must pay attention to what is going on around them and get enough rest.
Troop F has investigated 20 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 24 deaths.
